Get RAMP server/seller trained online!

This website and online training program were not created by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), however, this course has the approval of the PLCB as a valid curriculum for the RAMP, server/seller training and is provided by Rserving.

In Pennsylvania, RAMP server / seller training is mandatory for:
  • All staff serving alcohol at an off-premises catering event.
  • All cashiers selling wine at an establishment with a wine expanded permit.
  • All new alcohol service personnel hired on / after 8/8/16 who are not RAMP-trained must be so within six months of being hired and be re-trained before their current training expires.
  • All new alcohol service personnel hired on or after 8-8-16 who are already RAMP-trained must be re-trained before their current training expires.
  • All employees hired before 8-8-16 who are not RAMP-trained, but transfer into an alcohol service position on or after 8-8-16, need to obtain RAMP training within six months of assuming their new duties.
In addition, RAMP server / seller training is one component of RAMP Certification, which is a voluntary certification program that many licensed alcohol sellers - bars, restaurants, and other such businesses - participate in because of the incentives for participating. Because of this, you will need RAMP server / seller training to get a job as a bartender or alcohol seller/server at most alcohol-related businesses in Pennsylvania. The good news is that it's easy to get your RAMP (bartending) license online. It only requires a short while to take this online course and you'll have the knowledge, skills and certification you need to get a job as a bartender.

On June 18, 2001, Pennsylvania established the Responsible Alcohol Management Program. This is a voluntary certification that provides worthwhile incentives for licensees who participate and complete the five components of the program. One of these components is alcohol server/seller training.

In order to fulfill these requirements, at least 50% of the licensee's alcohol service staff must complete an approved server/seller training, such as the course offered here. Also included in the group required to take training is anyone who serves or handles alcohol and/or checks IDs, as well as owners and managers of the business. This fifty percent minimum training rate must be maintained at all times.
